When I opened my eyes

Posted: February 26, 2013 in Poems

When I opened my eyes
Many arms opened for hugs and smiles
Many hopes and dreams seen
From my closed eyes

When I opened my eyes
Few steps in a foreign land
Many faces and rough hands
Words all of which seemed bland

When I opened my eyes
With a paper and pen in my hand
A race with your loved ones in stands
When success seems like a quick sand

When I opened my eyes
Got some pat heard few words sour
Few feathers in my hat
And some empty jars

When I opened my eyes
Warm hands on my forehead
Few tears in the eyes few words unsaid
Moments that showed mirror moments that snatched our bread

When I opened my eyes
Trembling feet so old
Support from your dear ones
Are now worth its weight in gold

When I opened my eyes
Few breaths remaining fumbling words ending lines
Hugs again but no smiles this time
I opened my eyes just to see them shut this time

Days High

Posted: February 22, 2013 in Poems

Taking two steps with heavy heart inside
With a lot of sigh and the time unkind
I start my daily war with time

With running fingers and staring eyes
With closed lips and restless thighs
Waiting for that moment to see the days high
But the clock just ticks away with the colour changing sky

The days end is just nearby
Not a moment that gave me a reason to smile
Started taking steps back home again
Readying my sword to fight the battle again

As I reflect on the entire day
Trying to find the moments of joy
I open my eyes on hearing a voice
An innocent one
Without a hint of coy

Saw a small boy who waived at every passerby
With a smile on his face and torn sleeves and sides
Did not accept even a penny when thrown at the child
Nibbling a piece of thrown away pie said he wants to earn back a few smiles

Looking at his attitude I thought about the days high
What better could I experience than the day ending with a big smile

Just a thought while at work..

Under pressure, one might perform well or otherwise. But under ‘unwanted’ pressure its mostly ‘otherwise’.

Lost and Found

Posted: February 19, 2013 in Poems

Lost a bit of joy
But found a few sorrows too
Lost the track of reasons
And found a few joys new

Lost a little faith
Asked questions few
Found HIS doors open and unexplored
Got some answers new

Lost a few voices along the path
Lost a few hands that took me through
Found a new lamp that showed new light
Found new heads as destiny keeps making new

Lost a few beliefs that I had
Lost some patience too
Found a space where I was all alone
Found a place where distractions were few

Lost the trail of what I wanted to do
Lost that dream whose chances were so few
Found a purpose to do what was overdue
Found a reason to start something new

Realised a fact of life today…

A responsibilty when expressed, becomes an obligation, for whom the responsibility was taken.

You tolerate what you practice and you practice what you tolerate. The day you stop tolerating and start practising is when you start setting examples.
